Having approached to the deposit to 5-nautical field, the Maritime Guard watch identified a Russian Black Sea Fleet patrol boat nearby.

During the planned patrolling and control over the compliance with the legislation of Ukraine in the adjacent and exclusive (maritime) economic zone, a tactical group of ships of the State Border Guard Service Maritime Guard with the support of border guard aviation, including areas of gas condensate fields were inspected.

Self-elevating floating drilling rigs (SPBU) "Ukraine", renamed by the occupying authority of the annexed Crimea to "Crimea-1" and SPBU "Tavrida" were found out and identified in the Odessa deposit. Both drilling rigs show signs of continued industrial activity, flags of the aggressor country raised.

Having approached to the deposit to 5-nautical field, the Maritime Guard watch identified a Russian Black Sea Fleet patrol boat nearby.

At the request of the Maritime Guard ship about the purpose of a Russian warship activity in the exclusive (maritime) economic zone of Ukraine, it responded that it was protecting the Russian Federation's economic activity in the area and reported restrictions on approaching to the drilling platforms closer than to 1 nautical mile.

Maritime Guard continues to record and collect information on performing illegal economic activity of the Russian Federation in the exclusive (maritime) economic zone of Ukraine under the cover of the ships and boats of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.

It should be noted that the materials collected by the Maritime Guard of the State Border Guard Service in 2014 have already been placed in the evidence base of the case for consideration by the arbitral court in the Hague, which acknowledged that Russia illegally expropriated the assets of Naftogaz of Ukraine and its subsidiaries.
